Lambertschaag police investigate suspected drug lab after warehouse fire

Authorities are investigating a suspected drug laboratory following a fire at a warehouse in Lambertschaag. During the investigation of the site at Noordeinde, officials discovered dead fish in the surrounding water, prompting the damming of a ditch as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of potentially harmful substances.

Police have arrested a 24-year-old man from the municipality of Hoorn on suspicion of preparing for the production and trade of drugs. The man remains in custody, with a court decision regarding his provisional detention expected on September 30.

The Omgevingsdienst and the Hoogheemraadschap Hollands Noorderkwartier are currently investigating whether the soil or water has been contaminated. Investigators are also analyzing materials and substances found at the scene to determine the exact nature of the suspected drug production.
