Lambeth murder investigation launched after man found dead
The Metropolitan Police have launched a murder investigation following the death of a man in his 30s in Lambeth, south London. Officers were called to a property on Poynders Road at approximately 8:35 p.m. on Friday following a report from the London Fire Brigade.
Firefighters gained entry to the property and discovered the man, who had sustained serious head injuries. Despite interventions from paramedics and firefighters, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell stated that investigators currently believe the incident to be “isolated” and noted there is “no evidence to suggest any wider risk” to the public. Authorities are appealing to anyone in the area who may have seen or heard anything unusual to come forward to assist with the inquiry.
