Kannada cinema sci-fi social thriller humanoid robot artificial intelligence film release

The Kannada science-fiction social thriller ‘Lambodhara 2.0’ is scheduled for theatrical release on November 20, 2026. Directed by Simple Suni and produced by Mahaveer Jain Films, the movie will be available in both Kannada and Hindi.

The film features the debut of Bollywood actor Kunal Kapoor in Kannada cinema, starring alongside Anil Shetty and Saachi Bindra. A notable element of the production is the inclusion of a real-life humanoid robot named Jia, developed by Bengaluru-based Machani Robotics.

Set in a world shaped by artificial intelligence and digital validation, the story explores themes regarding the intersection of technology, human emotion, free will, and whether technology can facilitate human happiness.
