Lamborghini preserves heritage through restoration and rare classic sales

Lamborghini is maintaining its brand heritage through its Polo Storico division, which focuses on restoring classic models to their original factory specifications. Unlike some luxury competitors that produce “continuation cars” built from original blueprints, Lamborghini’s approach, led by Giuliano Cassataro, emphasizes preserving the authenticity of existing vehicles rather than manufacturing new ones from the past.

In a notable instance of automotive preservation, a Lamborghini Miura P400 S that was kept in a New York living room for 40 years was recently sold for over two million dollars. Purchased in the 1980s for approximately 10,000 dollars, the vehicle—featuring a rare ‘Luci del Bosco’ color—remained in near-perfect condition as a stationary display piece before its recent sale.
