Lamborghini shifts focus toward hybrid models

Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann has announced a strategic shift in the company’s electrification roadmap, moving away from an immediate transition to fully electric vehicles. Due to declining global acceptance for pure electric models among their customer base, the manufacturer will prioritize hybrid technology instead of accelerating its original plan to launch a fully electric model by the end of the decade.

In conjunction with this strategic update, Lamborghini has unveiled the Urus SE Performante, a high-performance plug-in hybrid SUV. The vehicle features a 597 kW (812 PS) powertrain with 1,000 Nm of torque, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and reaching a top speed of 312 km/h. To enhance performance, engineers utilized carbon fiber components to reduce the vehicle's weight by 32 kilograms, while maintaining an electric-only range of approximately 60 km.
