Lambros Dimitrogiannis attends EU Region Week in Brussels
Lambros Dimitrogiannis, representing the Region of Western Greece, participated in the 24th EU Region Week held in Brussels from October 12-14. The annual event, organized by the European Commission and the European Committee of the Regions, brought together approximately 5,000 participants from across the European Union under the theme “Strong Regions, Strong Europe.”
The summit focused on the current state of EU regions and cities, specifically addressing challenges such as economic growth, demographic change, industrial transition, energy autonomy, competitiveness, and social cohesion.
Dimitrogiannis engaged in high-level meetings to discuss financial and administrative tools for local communities regarding public health, climate change, and regional development. Notably, he met with Raffaele Fitto, the European Commission Executive Vice President for Regional Cohesion and Reforms, to discuss strategies for building resilient and competitive regions, reducing developmental inequalities, and increasing the participation of local authorities in financial planning.
