LAMENTARI releases final single ‘Oculi Lapidis’ ahead of new album

Danish symphonic extreme metal band LAMENTARI has released ‘Oculi Lapidis’, the final single from their upcoming second album, ‘Ante Auroram’. The album is scheduled for release on November 13, 2026.

Vocalist Daniel Lønberg describes the single’s narrative as an exploration of hatred that persists beyond death. The song tells the story of a man buried with stones over his eyes to provide sight in the afterlife, only to have them stolen by an enemy, condemning him to wander blindly in death.

The upcoming album, which translates to ‘before dawn’, aims to blend extreme metal with classical composition. Orchestrator Max Uldahl noted that the record focuses on the tension between darkness and light, exploring themes of grief and renewal. The production features mixing and mastering by Stefano Morabito and choral arrangements recorded with a live choir in London.
