L’Ametlla de Mar to manage accumulated vegetal waste
L’Ametlla de Mar has initiated a plan to manage an accumulation of vegetal waste that has built up over several months due to machinery stoppages and administrative difficulties. To mitigate the high fire risk posed by this dry material during the summer, the municipal government has awarded a contract to Bures Professional SA for €28,502 (including VAT).
The company will be responsible for the crushing, removal, and transport of 400 tons of waste to incineration and composting plants. To prevent future mass accumulations, the municipality is considering two long-term management alternatives: reactivating a municipal project funded by nuclear transition funds to create a local treatment plant, or establishing a rapid transport structure to move crushed waste directly to destination plants.
