Lamezia Terme commission requests review of urban planning regulations
The V Commission of the Lamezia Terme City Council, led by Professor Salvatore Vescio, has formally requested a comprehensive review of the municipality’s current Building and Urban Planning Regulation (REU).
The commission’s agenda highlights technical criticalities identified by municipal offices and the need to ensure the REU is fully aligned with current national and regional laws. Specifically, the commission noted that the municipal regulation has not been updated to reflect the standard building regulations adopted by the Calabria Region in 2017.
In addition to building standards, the commission flagged potential conflicts between the existing Urban Planning Regulation and national legislation. The proposal urges the Mayor and the City Council to activate relevant municipal departments to conduct a thorough assessment and implement necessary updates to the regulatory framework.
