Lamezia Terme to host advanced hepatology training course
Lamezia Terme is set to host the first Advanced Training Course in Hepatology, aimed at establishing the region as a hub for specialized medical expertise in Calabria. The program consists of three seminars scheduled for October 3, October 31, and November 14, 2026, at the T-Hotel Congress Hall.
The course is organized by Dr. Lorenzo Antonio Surace, head of the Infectious Diseases, Hepatology, and Liver Transplant Evaluation Clinic at ASP di Catanzaro. The clinic, which celebrated 25 years of activity in 2025, plays a critical role in regional liver disease management and provides essential follow-up care for Calabrian patients who undergo liver transplants at major Italian centers.
In addition to clinical expertise, the center utilizes advanced diagnostic tools, including a latest-generation FibroScan, to enhance patient care. The initiative follows years of collaboration between the clinic and Italy’s primary transplant centers, supported by the ASP di Catanzaro General Directorate.
