Lamia: Shootings reported between two Roma families

Shootings occurred on Saturday night in the Amfitheas area of Lamia involving two Roma families with long-standing disputes. The conflict began around 10:00 PM when a young man reported being chased by at least three vehicles and attacked with clubs near a school complex, resulting in vehicle damage.

The violence escalated later in the southern suburbs where three gunshots were recorded. It remains unconfirmed whether the shots were aimed at individuals or fired into the air for intimidation. Police intervention was required to de-escalate the high tension in the area during the early hours of Sunday.

Following the incident, police conducted raids on the homes of the involved parties on Sunday morning, but no weapons were recovered. The conflict appears rooted in a pre-existing rivalry between the families, which previously led to the imprisonment of members from one family following charges of assault and robbery.
