Lamia: Two commercial vans collide at city entrance

A serious traffic accident occurred on Saturday evening, October 31, 2026, at the DEI traffic light intersection near the entrance of Lamia, Greece. Two commercial vans were involved in a violent side-impact collision.

According to preliminary reports, one van was traveling from Athens and attempted a left turn after the light turned green. At that moment, a second van, carrying technicians from a private company, was traveling at speed from the Domokos direction and struck the passenger side of the first vehicle.

The collision caused significant material damage to both vehicles. The passenger of the first van sustained injuries and was transported to the General Hospital of Lamia. His medical condition is reported to be stable and not a cause for immediate concern.

Emergency services, including the Lamia Traffic Police, firefighters, and EKAV paramedics, attended the scene. Local residents and witnesses have expressed concerns regarding the danger of this specific intersection, calling for the installation of a roundabout to prevent future accidents.
