Lamine Yamal breaks La Liga assist record during Barcelona win

Lamine Yamal has become the youngest player to record 50 assists for a La Liga club, surpassing a previous record held by Vinícius Júnior. The 19-year-old Barcelona winger reached the milestone during a 3-1 comeback victory against Sevilla.

Yamal provided two assists during the match, both of which enabled teammate Raphinha to score as part of a hat-trick. Yamal achieved the 50-assist mark at age 19 years and 68 days, while Vinícius Júnior was 22 years and 298 days old when he set the previous benchmark.

Despite facing significant jeers and whistling from the Sevilla crowd during the match, Yamal’s performance helped Barcelona maintain an unbeaten start to the season under coach Hansi Flick.
