Lamine Yamal breaks Champions League record for most goals under age 20

Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal has set a new UEFA Champions League record by becoming the highest scoring player in the competition's history before turning 20. Yamal reached 14 goals in 37 appearances following his seventh-minute strike in Barcelona's 3-0 victory over Aston Villa at Spotify Camp Nou.

With this goal, the 19-year-old surpassed the previous record of 13 goals held by Kylian Mbappé. Erling Haaland follows in third place with 10 goals scored before the age of 20. Notably, all 14 of Yamal's Champions League goals have been scored with his left foot.

In addition to this milestone, Yamal continues to hold several other youth records in the tournament, including being the youngest player to start a match. Barcelona's victory was further secured by a brace from Raphinha in the second half.
