José Mourinho rejects signing Lamine Yamal for Real Madrid

Real Madrid manager José Mourinho has addressed rumors regarding the potential signing of Barcelona star Lamine Yamal. While praising the 19-year-old's exceptional talent and achievements, Mourinho stated he would not pursue the winger, noting, “He’s a very good player but no (we won’t sign him). We already have the best players.”

Mourinho expressed high confidence in his current squad, specifically highlighting Kylian Mbappé. The manager praised Mbappé’s professionalism and dedication, noting the striker's early return to training following the 2026 World Cup.

Separately, reports indicate that FC Barcelona is working to secure Lamine Yamal's future. An agreement for a contract renewal through the summer of 2031 is reportedly finalized and awaiting signatures. The deal is expected to include a significant salary increase and the number 10 jersey.
