Álamo poultry farm attacked by arson and suspected kidnapping

Security forces and federal troops have deployed to the northern region of Veracruz following an intentional arson attack at the ‘Faja de Oro’ poultry farm in the Temapache community, located in the Álamo municipality.

Suspected criminal group members reportedly entered the facility and set it on fire before fleeing. In addition to the infrastructure damage, authorities are investigating the suspected kidnapping of the farm's night watchman, who has been reported missing.

During their escape, the attackers placed metal spikes, known as ‘ponchallantas’, on various road sections connecting Álamo, Cerro Azul, Naranjos, and Tuxpan. These devices have caused damage to vehicle tires and prompted safety alerts for motorists. The National Guard and the Secretariat of Public Security have intensified patrols to remove the road obstacles and search for both the missing worker and the perpetrators. As of the latest reports, no arrests have been confirmed.
