Lamont and Fazio hold final Connecticut gubernatorial debate

Governor Ned Lamont and Republican challenger Ryan Fazio participated in their second and final debate on Tuesday, held during the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities convention at Mohegan Sun.

During the debate, Lamont focused on his record of steering Connecticut toward fiscal stability and growth. He challenged Fazio on national Republican stances, specifically regarding tariffs, immigration policies, and foreign conflicts.

Fazio, a state senator from Greenwich, took an aggressive stance by emphasizing property taxes and government mandates. Prior to the debate, Fazio also addressed the Connecticut Community Nonprofit Alliance, where he argued that investing in nonprofit organizations can deliver vital services more efficiently than direct state government action while protecting taxpayers.
