Lamothe-Montravel celebrates 90 years of community festivities

The village of Lamothe-Montravel is celebrating the 90th anniversary of its Comité des Fêtes. To mark nine decades of community engagement since 1936, a series of events will take place on August 22. The program includes gourmet markets, folk demonstrations, and concerts, concluding with a light and sound show at the foot of the former Archbishop of Bordeaux's tower. Additionally, the village will host the first chapter of the Confrérie des Pommes de Terre Sarladaises.

In musical news, performers Sonia Sempere and Emmanuel Pélaprat are scheduled to appear at the Vespérales festival on August 18. Sempere, director of the Classicahors festival, is a soloist known for her work in opera and operetta. Pélaprat, a professor at Bordeaux-Montaigne University and a recently appointed instrumental heritage expert by the Ministry of Culture, will join her for the performance.
