Lampung Police Launch Discipline Raid and Bust $15 Million Drug Trafficking Ring
The Propam unit of the North Lampung Police carried out a surprise inspection of several nightlife venues on 20 June 2026. Led by Deputy Police Chief Kompol Yohanis and involving anti‑narcotics, traffic, medical and military police personnel, the operation aimed to verify that officers were not violating discipline or using illegal drugs. The raid was completed without incident and included identity checks and warnings to venue owners.
In a separate operation, the Lampung Regional Police (Polda Lampung) dismantled an international narcotics network valued at roughly Rp235 billion (about US$15 million). The five‑month covert effort, focused on the Bakauheni seaport crossing between Sumatra and Java, resulted in the arrest of 24 couriers and the seizure of large drug stocks, including 179.5 kg of methamphetamine, 58 kg of cannabis, 44,128 ecstasy tablets, 11.4 kg of ketamine and 20,000 “Happy Five” pills. Police chief Irjen Helfi Assegaf emphasized the crackdown’s role in protecting the community.
