Lampung religious groups celebrate Independence Day to promote tolerance

In Bandar Lampung, religious leaders and community members gathered at Asilo Hermelink to celebrate Indonesia’s 81st Independence Day through art and culture. The event, organized by the Tanjungkarang Diocese's Commission for Lay Apostolate and the Lampung Forum for Religious Harmony (FKUB), aimed to promote tolerance and brotherhood amidst the region's diversity.

Participants included representatives from various religious organizations, including the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), Catholic officials, and various faith-based groups. Organizers emphasized that diversity is a national asset that must be nurtured through shared cultural experiences and communal spaces.
