Lana Pudar leads Bosnia at European Swimming Championships in Paris
Bosnia and Herzegovina’s top swimmer, 20‑year‑old Lana Pudar, will head the national team at the European Senior Swimming Championships in Paris from 10 to 17 August. After a year training with Virginia Swimming & Diving in the United States, Pudar returns in excellent form, aiming to add to her record of three senior European medals – gold in the 200 m butterfly at Rome 2022, bronze in the same event, and silver from Belgrade 2024 – and to defend two gold medals she won at the 2019 Mediterranean Games in Oran.
Pudar will be joined by fellow Bosnian swimmer Iman Avdić, a multiple national record holder who also competes at the Paris championships and the Mediterranean Games in Taranto (21 August – 2 September). Avdić’s participation is backed by the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Culture and Sport. The Bosnian squad also includes Croatian butterfly specialist Amina Kajtaz and is supported by the Orka swimming club, which has long been the leading club in the country.
