Lancaster County police arrest man following alleged attempted kidnapping

Junior Jose Davila-Moran, a 26-year-old Guatemalan national, was taken into custody by Pennsylvania State Police on October 16 following an alleged attempted kidnapping in Sadsbury Township.

According to police affidavits, the incident occurred on October 14 when a 23-year-old Amish woman was performing yard work in Lancaster County. Davila-Moran allegedly approached the woman from behind armed with a six-to-eight-inch serrated knife and black handcuffs, claiming everything would be fine if she complied.

The woman successfully repelled the attacker by screaming and revving the motor of her weed whacker, which caused the suspect to flee behind a wooden barn. Law enforcement tracked the suspect using witness accounts and neighbor surveillance footage of a vehicle registered to his father. The victim later identified Davila-Moran in a photo lineup.
