Lance Beck arrested in Phuket on US child abuse warrants
An American man, Lance Beck, has been arrested in Phuket, Thailand, following a request for assistance from the FBI. Beck, 48, was apprehended at a hotel in the Nai Yang area of the Thalang district on August 29.
Beck is wanted in the United States on eight warrants, including seven from the state of Alabama and one federal warrant. The charges against him involve serious allegations of child sexual abuse, including rape, sexual torture, human trafficking, and the facilitation of travel for minors for unlawful sexual acts.
Following his arrest, Thai authorities revoked his permission to stay in the country. He has been transferred to the Immigration Detention Center in Bangkok to await extradition to the United States.
