Land occupations reported in Paraná and São Paulo

Land occupations have been reported in two different Brazilian states. In Terra Roxa, Paraná, approximately 30 indigenous people occupied a portion of the 1,200-hectare Fazenda São Paulo. The Sistema FAEP expressed strong repudiation of the act, calling it a planned movement that creates insecurity for rural producers. The entity has requested support from the Paraná Military Police for immediate repossession.

In Lavínia, São Paulo, approximately 48 families led by the Movimento Social NFL occupied an area of a local farm. Sources indicate the movement is led by José Rainha and that the area had been designated by Incra to accommodate workers linked to the MST and NFL movements. The occupiers expressed hope regarding the current federal administration's stance on land distribution.
