Land Rover announces 2026 Defender SUV range and hybrid version of upcoming Defender Sport

Land Rover detailed its 2026 Defender line‑up, offering three body styles – the two‑door Defender 90, the four‑door Defender 110 and the longer‑wheel‑base Defender 130 – each with multiple trim levels such as S, X Dynamic SE, X and V8. The range includes a selection of four gasoline engines (P300, P400, P500, P525) and a high‑output V8 (P635) reserved for the Octa models, all paired with an eight‑speed automatic and standard four‑wheel drive. Interior and technology features comprise a 13.1‑inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, wireless charging, Meridian sound, and a suite of driver‑assist systems including 3‑D surround camera and adaptive cruise control.

In a separate announcement, Land Rover confirmed that the forthcoming Defender Sport – nicknamed the “Baby Defender” – will be launched first as a battery‑electric vehicle and will also be offered with a hybrid electric‑vehicle (HEV) powertrain. Built on the new EMA platform, the model is expected to be about 4.5 m long and retain the Defender’s off‑road capability.
