Land Rover tests smaller Defender model with unique rear storage
Land Rover is currently developing a smaller version of its Defender line, potentially named the Defender Sport. Spy photos taken near the JLR testing facility at Nurburgring have revealed a unique rectangular box attached to the exterior of the vehicle's rear door.
This external compartment appears to be a solution for limited cargo space in the smaller SUV model. While it does not resemble a spare tire carrier, analysts suggest it may serve as a dedicated storage box for charging cables, similar to Mercedes-Benz's 'Design box' for the electric G-Class. Alternatively, it could be used to house tire repair kits to maintain utility without sacrificing interior space.
