Land Transport Regulatory Commission launches pilot bus lines in Jordan

The Land Transport Regulatory Commission has launched the pilot operation of regular public transport lines connecting Mafraq to Zarqa and Mafraq to Jerash. This initiative is part of the second phase of a project designed to develop inter-governorate public transportation in Jordan.

According to Riyadh Al-Kharabsheh, Director General of the Land Transport Regulatory Commission, the project aims to provide safe and organized transport options to facilitate movement between these governorates. The new service utilizes modern vehicles equipped with smart transportation systems, including CCTV surveillance, electronic tracking, electronic payment methods, and free Wi-Fi to enhance safety and passenger comfort.

During this pilot phase, the Commission will monitor performance, passenger numbers, and service demand to identify peak times and necessary improvements before transitioning to full-scale permanent operations. The Commission also intends to collect feedback from citizens and local operators to address any challenges encountered during the trial period.
