Landau inaugurates redesigned Glacisstraße and Moltkestraße

The Glacisstraße and Moltkestraße streets in the Südstadt district of Landau have been officially inaugurated following extensive redevelopment. The project, completed in phases between 2024 and 2026, cost approximately 2.9 million euros.

Funded through the federal program ‘Climate Protection through Cycling,’ the project redesigned roughly 720 meters of roadway to create a vital east-west connection for the city's southern region. The new infrastructure includes safe cycling paths that link various school, educational, and university locations as part of a larger cycling ring.

In addition to improved mobility, the project focused on urban climate adaptation. A total of 60 new trees were planted across both streets to provide shade, improve the local climate, and increase the quality of life for residents and commuters.
