Landes surf season begins with Quiksilver Festival and national championships
The Landes region in France is experiencing a strong start to the autumn surf season, characterized by powerful swells and high-quality wave conditions. These conditions have coincided with the Quiksilver Festival, providing optimal environments for both local surfers and professionals such as Jérémy Florès, Miky Picon, and Michel Bourez.
In addition to festival activities, the French Surfing Championships are scheduled to take place from October 17 to 25 across the beaches of Hossegor, Seignosse, and Capbreton. The event will feature 550 competitors participating in nine different disciplines, including shortboard, longboard, bodysurf, para-surf, and tandem surf.
The championships emphasize inclusivity and environmental responsibility, featuring dedicated programming for para-surfers and a commitment to gender parity. The event remains free for the public to attend, highlighting the cultural and economic importance of surfing to the regional territory.
