Landesamt für Finanzen opens new headquarters in Weiden

The new service building for the Landesamt für Finanzen in Weiden was officially opened on October 8, 2026. The modern facility, developed and realized by HL Immobilien, provides approximately 5,800 square meters of usable space and was designed to be fully barrier-free.

Under a long-term lease agreement, the Free State of Bavaria will occupy the building. The transition to the new site will occur in stages over the coming months as IT infrastructure and office equipment are finalized. This move consolidates staff who were previously spread across five different locations in the city.

Bavarian Finance and Home Minister Albert Füracker described the project as a “model example of successful administrative relocation.” The initiative is part of a broader effort to strengthen the northern Upper Palatinate region by providing local employment opportunities. Currently, around 240 employees work in Weiden, with approximately 220 arriving through the relocation process. The goal is to expand the workforce to between 300 and 350 positions by 2030, including roughly 40 IT specialists for FinanzIT BAYERN.
