Landesjugendchor Rheinland-Pfalz performs in Bad Dürkheim

The Landesjugendchor Rheinland-Pfalz performed a concert titled ‘Nordlicht’ at the Schlosskirche in Bad Dürkheim on October 18, 2026. The event, which focused on Scandinavian choral music, drew a large crowd that required additional seating to accommodate all attendees.

Under the musical direction of Professor Steffen Schreyer, the ensemble presented a program of a cappella compositions from Sweden, Norway, and Denmark. The repertoire spanned over a century of musical history, ranging from traditional folk melodies to contemporary works such as Ola Gjeilos’s ‘Northern Lights’ and Gunnar Hahn’s ‘Rondo Lapponico,’ which incorporates Sami Jojk sounds.
