Landmarks in Romania and Moldova illuminated pink for breast cancer awareness
Landmarks in Romania and Moldova were illuminated in pink to mark the beginning of International Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
In Cluj-Napoca, Romania, the Prof. Dr. Ion Chiricuță Oncological Institute (IOCN) was lit in pink as part of the global ‘Pink Illumination’ initiative. The campaign, active in over 80 countries, aims to highlight the importance of prevention and early detection. Dr. Cătălin Vlad, manager of the IOCN, emphasized that the institute's mission extends beyond treatment to include professional and empathetic care focused on increasing survival chances through early diagnosis.
In Chișinău, Moldova, the Arcul de Triumf was also illuminated in pink as part of a social campaign dedicated to breast cancer prophylaxis. The event featured survivors who shared their personal experiences of overcoming the disease.
