Lando Norris celebrates 2025 F1 title at Goodwood Festival of Speed

The Goodwood Festival of Speed welcomed reigning world champion Lando Norris, who performed a demonstration run in McLaren’s 2023 Formula 1 car, the MCL60, to mark his 2025 Drivers’ Championship. After climbing the historic hill, Norris joined McLaren Team Principal Andrea Stella and the Duke of Richmond on the balcony, receiving a standing ovation from thousands of fans.

The event also featured the public debut of McLaren’s new MCL‑HY hypercar, intended for the FIA World Endurance Championship and the 2027 24 Hours of Le Mans. Alongside the modern machinery, McLaren displayed historic cars, including James Hunt’s 1976 championship-winning M23 and the rare MP4/8B test car, underscoring the team’s racing heritage.

Other current F1 drivers and motorsport legends participated throughout the four‑day festival, making Goodwood a showcase of past and present grand‑prix history.
