Lando Norris wins 2026 Hungarian Grand Prix for McLaren FAST-MOVING
British driver Lando Norris secured McLaren's first victory of the 2026 season by winning the Hungarian Grand Prix from pole position. He finished ahead of Red Bull's Max Verstappen, who took second, and Mercedes rookie Kimi Antonelli, who completed the podium in third place.
McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri was forced to retire after a gearbox failure, ending the team's chance of a one‑two finish. Lewis Hamilton received a five‑second pit‑lane speeding penalty, which dropped him from fourth to fifth behind Ferrari's Charles Leclerc.
The event attracted about 310,000 spectators, with more than 80 % coming from abroad. Antonelli extended his drivers' championship lead to 50 points. The next race is slated for 23 August at the Dutch Grand Prix in Zandvoort.
