Landshut Customs introduces new narcotics detection dog Bo

The Landshut Main Customs Office has introduced a new narcotics detection dog named Bo to its transport routes control unit. Bo, a Belgian Shepherd, successfully completed nearly two years of intensive specialized training at the customs dog school in Neuendettelsau.

Bo has already demonstrated his effectiveness during initial deployments. In mid-August, the dog successfully detected hidden narcotics during a vehicle inspection. Petra Seidl, head of the Landshut Main Customs Office, noted that Bo provides valuable reinforcement due to his exceptional sense of smell, which allows him to locate well-hidden drugs.

The customs office also announced an information day scheduled for September 12, 2026, in Altdorf, intended to provide the public with insights into various customs tasks and career opportunities.
