Germany and Italy host various local community and cultural events
Various local community events and cultural activities are scheduled across Germany and Italy.
In Cologne-Rodenkirchen, the volunteer fire department is moving to a modern new facility on Sürther Straße. An open house is planned for September 5, 2026, which will also feature a leadership change as Katja Radnai hands over command to Tobias Schmickler.
In Landshut, the Day of Open Monuments will showcase historical sites, including the ringing of a newly cast bell at St. Vitus Church in Rammelkam and archaeological findings at the Spitalensemble in Vilsbiburg. Similarly, the Rote Kolonie in Troisdorf will host tours and a film regarding its history since 1913.
Other notable events include an open house for the Kommunale Servicebetrieb Dorsten (KSD) on September 12 to celebrate its 25th anniversary, and a wine tasting event at Weingüter Wegeler in Oestrich-Winkel on August 29, featuring Rieslings from the Rheingau and Mosel regions.
In South Tyrol, the SVP party is addressing electoral reform and bilingualism requirements in the public service.
