Landslide affects Corner 15 Santa Fe commercial plaza in Mexico City

A landslide involving approximately 60 cubic meters of material occurred behind the Corner 15 Santa Fe commercial plaza in the Cuajimalpa borough of Mexico City. The incident affected seven basement levels and eight ground-floor premises, causing damage to windows, a section of the floor slab, and vehicles.

Authorities from the Secretariat of Integral Risk Management and Civil Protection reported that no injuries occurred, though two security guards were evacuated as a precaution. Emergency responders closed the LP gas valve and advised neighboring buildings to shut off their stationary gas tanks. Preliminary assessments suggest that water saturation in the terrain may have contributed to the collapse of the 30-meter-high slope. Circulation on Juan Salvador Agraz has been restricted while safety evaluations continue.
