Landslide blocks Provincial Road 543D in Nghệ An

On the morning of August 8, a major landslide occurred on Provincial Road 543D in the Mường Típ commune area of Nghệ An province. Hundreds of cubic meters of rocks and earth tumbled from high cliffs, completely blocking the roadway near Xốp Típ village.

The landslide was triggered by prolonged heavy rainfall in the region. Local authorities, including the Mường Típ Commune Police and the People's Committee, responded by setting up warning signs, cordoning off dangerous areas, and directing traffic to safer routes.

To clear the obstruction, authorities requisitioned machinery from a nearby construction site. By approximately 1:00 PM the same day, the debris had been largely cleared, and traffic flow was restored. No injuries or fatalities were reported from the incident.
