Landslides obstruct National Highway 4B in Lạng Sơn

Severe landslides have occurred along National Highway 4B, connecting Lạng Sơn and Quảng Ninh provinces. Despite a lack of heavy thunderstorms in the region recently, multiple sections of the road have experienced significant soil and rock shifts, with some landslides occupying nearly half of the roadway.

In the area passing through Lộc Bình commune, large sections of the upper slope have collapsed onto the road. Between kilometer 12 and kilometer 16 on the route from Lạng Sơn to Quảng Ninh, mud and debris have flowed onto the surface, hardening into patches that obstruct traffic.

Authorities have responded by installing warning signs and cordoning off parts of the highway to ensure safety. While some concrete barriers have been constructed to prevent debris from spreading, mud continues to encroach on the driving lanes. Local authorities have tasked road maintenance units with clearing the site and reinforcing high-risk slopes to mitigate the danger of accidents, particularly at night.
