Landsnet reports $20.1 million profit for first half of 2026

Landsnet has reported a profit of $20.1 million (approximately 2.5 billion ISK) for the first half of 2026. The company's revenue during this period reached $99.8 million (over 12.3 billion ISK).

CEO Ragna Árnadóttir emphasized that stable operations are essential for the ongoing development of the transmission system to connect energy production with demand across the country. Key infrastructure projects are underway, including the Suðurnesjalína 2 line, which aims to improve power delivery security in the Suðurnes region and increase capacity to and from the capital area.

A previous technical failure at the Norðuráls aluminum smelter in October 2025 had a limited impact on Landsnet's financial performance during the first half of this year.
