Landtag Nordrhein-Westfalen celebrates 80th anniversary

The Landtag of North Rhine-Westphalia is celebrating its 80th anniversary with a ‘Parliament Night’ scheduled for Friday, October 9. The event aims to engage citizens through a diverse program including music, magic, exhibitions, and live debates.

During the festivities, which run from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM, visitors can sit in the plenary hall and use the speaker's podium. The event also features an auction of gifts from international guests to benefit the ‘RTL – Wir helfen Kindern’ foundation.

A light installation titled ‘Fundament der Demokratie’ (Foundation of Democracy), designed by the artist duo Hartung & Trenz, is displayed on the forecourt and facades of the parliament building. The illumination features quotes and thoughts on democracy from well-known figures and local school classes.
