Philadelphia Eagles veteran offensive lineman Lane Johnson has indicated he is likely to retire following the 2026 NFL season. Johnson, 36, noted that family health matters have influenced his perspective on the longevity of his career, stating, “You can’t play forever.”

Despite the impending departure of the Hall of Fame-caliber right tackle, Johnson has expressed strong confidence in rookie Markel Bell as a potential successor. Johnson praised Bell’s maturity, work ethic, and ability to learn the playbook, calling him “one of the best rookies I’ve been around.”
