Lang Son Province to replace Dong Kinh Stadium with new square and memorial

The Dong Kinh Stadium in Lang Son Province, a sports facility with a 15,000-seat capacity, is scheduled for demolition to make way for the Lang Son Square and Ho Chi Minh Memorial House project. Built in 2002, the stadium covers over 16,400 square meters and includes a football pitch, a standard running track, and a covered grandstand.

The new project, planned for the 2026–2028 period, will occupy approximately 4.58 hectares. The development is intended to serve as a central urban space for major political, cultural, and festival events, as well as a community hub for local residents. The project aims to enhance the urban landscape and provide a significant architectural landmark for the province.

Local authorities are currently working on site clearance, compensation, and resettlement efforts to prepare for the project's commencement. Officials have emphasized the importance of ensuring architectural and technical synchronization in the design to meet the requirements for hosting large-scale events.
