Lang Son residents face danger from landslides along Highway 4A

Residents in An Hung village, Na Sam commune, Lang Son province, are facing severe risks due to ongoing landslides along National Highway 4A. Large sections of hillsides have cracked and become unstable, threatening homes located directly beneath the slopes.

In some areas, the terrain has collapsed into deep ravines, and existing mitigation efforts have been limited to covering soil with tarps rather than permanent concrete reinforcement. One resident, Be Thi Tham, reported that her home was heavily damaged by landslides, forcing her to seek alternative living arrangements after only a few years of occupancy.
