Langau and Hessendorf police investigate series of burglaries

Police are investigating a series of burglaries and attempted break-ins occurring in the Langau and Hessendorf areas during August. Investigators believe the incidents are linked due to similar methods used by the perpetrators.

Between August 8 and August 22, unknown individuals forced entry into a sports facility equipment room in Langau by prying open a fire door. While nothing was reported stolen, the damage to the door is estimated at approximately 1,500 euros.

Earlier in the month, between August 10 and 11, a business in Hessendorf was targeted. The perpetrators used a tool, likely an angle grinder, to cut a padlock on an access barrier before breaking into two outbuildings. Cash and cigarettes were stolen, resulting in roughly 3,000 euros in damages.

Shortly after, between August 11 and 12, a company office in Langau was burglarized after a window was forced open. This incident caused an estimated 9,000 euros in damage, and police noted the method of entry was similar to the Hessendorf burglary.
