Langdock relocates AI startup headquarters from US to Germany

Berlin-based AI startup Langdock is moving its legal headquarters from the United States back to Germany. The company is converting its US parent company into a European Company (Societas Europaea, SE).

This move reverses the common trend of European founders relocating to the US to access venture capital and lower taxes. Langdock cited strategic reasons and legal risks as primary drivers, specifically noting that US laws like the Cloud Act and the Patriot Act created data privacy concerns for corporate clients.

Langdock, which serves approximately 13,000 organizations, aims to grow into a European cloud and AI infrastructure provider to bolster digital sovereignty. The company plans to invest between 10 and 15 million euros to launch its first proprietary data center later this year.
