Langford couple builds miniature railway to honor local history
In Langford, British Columbia, Lanny and Dianna Seaton have spent the last two decades developing a miniature railway in their Glen Lake backyard. The project serves as a historical tribute to the West Shore and Sooke areas, featuring handmade replicas of local landmarks such as Langford City Hall, Goldstream Provincial Park, and the Goodridge Sawmill.
Lanny Seaton, a carpenter and retired Canadian Coast Guard veteran, has personally constructed the buildings along the tracks. The railway aims to preserve the memory of the region's logging history and the close-knit community atmosphere that existed before the area's rapid growth. The project has involved three generations of the Seaton family.
