Langford groundbreaking marks start of Victoria British Columbia Temple construction

Construction has officially begun on the Victoria British Columbia Temple in Langford. A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Saturday, attended by church leaders and invited guests.

The temple will be situated on a 4.7-acre site at 1151 Mantle Heights Rd. The planned single-storey structure will cover approximately 11,400 square feet and include a patron waiting area. Elder James E. Evanson, a General Authority Seventy, presided over the ceremony and delivered the dedicatory prayer.

Originally announced by Church President Russell M. Nelson during the April 2024 general conference, the project marks a significant milestone for members on Vancouver Island. Once finished, the site will serve as the second temple in British Columbia and the 11th in Canada. A completion date has not yet been established.
