Langford highrise Ridgeview Place slated for demolition

Centurion Properties has announced the decision to demolish Ridgeview Place, an 11-storey highrise development in downtown Langford, due to dangerous structural defects. The 90-unit building, also known as Danbrook One, has remained vacant for over three years following the termination of tenant leases in April 2023.

The building, located on Claude Road, was completed in early 2019. It had previously undergone an evacuation in late 2019 after remediation work was deemed necessary to address safety issues. Centurion Properties stated that the decision to tear down the structure follows an extensive review of available options and that the company is currently developing plans to rebuild a new residential community on the site.

Langford Mayor Scott Goodmanson expressed disappointment regarding the news, noting that the loss of rental housing units is a significant setback for the community during a period of housing scarcity. The city was notified of the demolition plans on September 17, 2026.
