Langford property transformed into wellness hub for tradespeople

A former biker clubhouse in Langford is being transformed into The FORGE, a wellness and recovery hub specifically designed to support mental health and address addiction challenges within the skilled trades.

During a recent community event titled “Forged in Hope,” participants wrote messages of remembrance and strength directly onto the building’s wooden framing. These notes will be permanently sealed inside the walls before the facility's completion.

The Construction Foundation of BC purchased the property, previously the headquarters of the Savages Motorcycle Club, in June 2025. The old structure was demolished in early 2026 to make way for the new facility, which is expected to open in early 2027. The project addresses critical industry statistics, including a 2024 survey showing nearly half of building trades workers rate their mental health as fair or poor, and Health Canada data indicating that 30 to 50 per cent of opioid-related deaths occur among those employed in the trades.
